Question 12

What should I do if MDF warps or deforms?

Accepted Answer

MDF warping or deformation is usually related to raw material control, fiber moisture content, board density, mat formation uniformity, hot pressing parameters, and post-treatment. If warping is found, please contact JINDIWOOD after-sales within the warranty period. Our "full after-sales guarantee" covers such quality issues.

Question 13

What causes a rough surface or sanding marks on MDF?

Accepted Answer

MDF has very high requirements for surface quality, especially when surface decoration is applied, where a flat and fine surface is essential. A rough surface or sanding marks are usually related to improper control of the sanding process. JINDIWOOD uses a fine sanding process (180–240 grit sanding belts), ensuring surface roughness Ra ≤ 3.2 μm and thickness tolerance within ± 0.15 mm.

Question 14

How is the screw holding strength of MDF?

Accepted Answer

MDF has an internal bond strength ≥ 0.55 MPa, with good screw holding. Face screw holding can reach 700–1000 N. However, edge screw holding is relatively weaker. It is recommended to install hardware on the panel face as much as possible. If edge installation is required, pre-inserted nuts or additional connectors are recommended for reinforcement.

Question 15

Can MDF be used for extra-high cabinet doors?

Accepted Answer

MDF can be used for cabinet doors, but extra-high doors over 1.9 m have a deformation risk. Recommendations: ① choose high-density MDF (≥ 800 kg/m³); ② increase door thickness (≥ 22 mm); ③ install a straightener on the back of the door; ④ choose a moisture-resistant product and ensure proper edge sealing.

Question 16

Question 17

What is the difference between MDF (Medium Density Fiberboard) and particle board?

Accepted Answer

MDF is made from wood fibers, which are fine and uniform, offering excellent surface flatness and suitability for decorative finishing and fine carving. Particle board is made from wood chips with a granular internal structure, providing good screw holding and better cost-effectiveness. MDF is ideal for decorative panel substrates, door profiles, and carved parts; particle board is suitable for cabinet bodies, shelves, and other structural components.

Question 18

What eco-friendly grades are available for MDF? How to identify them?

Accepted Answer

JINDIWOOD MDF offers three eco-friendly grades: E1 (≤ 0.050 mg/m³), E0 (≤ 0.025 mg/m³), and ENF (≤ 0.015 mg/m³). When purchasing, first check whether the product label information is complete, and confirm the product type and formaldehyde emission grade marking. It is recommended to choose a manufacturer with a good brand reputation and avoid products without labels or with a strong irritating odor.

Question 19

How is the moisture resistance of MDF? Can it be used in kitchens or bathrooms?

Accepted Answer

Standard MDF has average moisture resistance, with a 24-hour thickness swelling rate ≤ 15%. For humid environments such as kitchens and bathrooms, it is recommended to choose moisture-resistant MDF (24-hour thickness swelling ≤ 10%) with strict edge sealing. Unsealed MDF edges will swell severely after water contact, so it is not recommended for long-term water exposure or outdoor use.

Question 20

How does MDF perform in CNC carving and milling?

Accepted Answer

MDF is homogeneous, dense, and isotropic, making it the best material among all wood-based panels for CNC carving and milling. Custom sizes such as 1220 × 2810 mm, 1220 × 3035 mm, and 1220 × 3660 mm are also available. Thin board density ≥ 830 kg/m³, thick board density ≥ 750 kg/m³, higher than national standard requirements.

Question 22

What should I do if the formwork blisters or partially delaminates?

Accepted Answer

Blistering and partial delamination are usually related to the following factors: excessive moisture content or uneven drying of veneers, excessive glue spread, too fast pressure release, insufficient pressing time, etc. If such problems occur, stop using the product immediately and contact JINDIWOOD after-sales service. Once confirmed as a quality issue, it will be handled under the “Full After-Sales Guarantee” policy.

Question 23

What causes film delamination or peeling on formwork?

Accepted Answer

Film delamination is usually related to the following factors: low hot-pressing temperature leading to insufficient film paper adhesion; poor base paper quality or uneven resin impregnation; failure to press into one integrated board during hot pressing; poor impregnation quality of the film paper. JINDIWOOD minimizes such problems through strict hot-pressing process control and the selection of high-quality base paper.

Question 24

What causes insufficient strength of formwork?

Accepted Answer

Insufficient formwork strength is usually related to low adhesive quality or improper control of hot-pressing conditions (temperature not high enough, pressure too low, time too short). JINDIWOOD formwork has a modulus of rupture ≥50 MPa (parallel to grain) and a modulus of elasticity ≥7500 MPa, far exceeding national standard requirements, ensuring construction safety.

Question 25

How should formwork be stored and maintained?

Accepted Answer

Proper storage and maintenance of formwork can significantly extend its service life: ① Clean concrete residue from the panel surface promptly after use to avoid scratching the film with hard objects; ② Store horizontally with wood blocks underneath to keep it flat; ③ Avoid direct sunlight and rain, and maintain ventilation; ④ Long-term storage areas should have rain and moisture protection measures; ⑤ Check formwork condition regularly and replace it promptly when film damage is found.

Question 26

What is JINDIWOOD’s warranty policy for formwork?

Accepted Answer

JINDIWOOD formwork comes with a 12-month warranty from the date the goods arrive. For quality issues such as insufficient bonding strength, severe blistering or delamination, or reuse times far below the promised standard, we provide full compensation and cover replacement shipping costs. Damage caused by improper construction operations or improper storage is not covered by the warranty.

Question 27

What is film-faced construction formwork? What is the difference from ordinary formwork?

Accepted Answer

Film-faced construction formwork is an engineered formwork made by covering the surface of a high-quality plywood substrate with a phenolic resin-impregnated film and bonding it under high temperature and pressure. Differences from ordinary formwork: ① The surface film layer is waterproof and wear-resistant and can be reused 20–30 times, while ordinary formwork can only be used 3–5 times; ② the surface of the poured concrete is smooth as a mirror, achieving a fair-faced concrete effect; ③ it is resistant to acids, alkalis and weathering, and is suitable for all kinds of construction environments.

Question 28

What factors affect the reuse cycles of construction formwork?

Accepted Answer

The reuse cycles of construction formwork are affected by multiple factors: ① Film layer quality — resin impregnation amount and curing degree determine wear resistance and alkali resistance; ② core hardness — hardwood core (eucalyptus/birch) resists compression marks better than softwood core (poplar); ③ construction operations — proper stripping and timely cleaning of mortar residue greatly extend service life; ④ storage conditions — horizontal storage, protection from rain and moisture, avoiding direct sunlight; ⑤ release agent use — rational use protects the film layer.

Question 29

How should the thickness and grade of construction formwork be selected?

Accepted Answer

The selection of construction formwork thickness must comprehensively consider the lateral pressure of concrete and the support spacing. The conventional thickness is 12–30 mm; 18 mm is the market mainstream. Grade selection recommendations: for low-rise housing (≤6 floors), choose 15 mm glue-coated board/film-faced board; for mid-to-high-rise buildings (7–18 floors), choose 18 mm high-quality film-faced board; for super high-rise buildings (≥30 floors), choose 18–20 mm high-strength film-faced board (hardwood core); for fair-faced concrete, choose premium film-faced board. The higher the required reuse cycles, the higher the grade that should be selected.

Question 30

What is the difference between the surface colors of construction formwork?

Accepted Answer

The film color of construction formwork (black, brown, red) mainly differs in film paper material and brand identification; the color itself does not affect physical performance. Different manufacturers use different colors as brand distinctions, so when purchasing, attention should be paid to the quality of the film paper rather than the color.
